Rockview Celebrates Giving Tuesday

November 28, 2017

For the past five days we’ve been bombarded by sales, promotions, and “one-time only deals” on things were not sure we really need to buy anyway. Black Friday has now become a weeklong occasion with some shoppers lining up on Thanksgiving! Going back to work Monday morning provides no pause from the chaos because your email inbox is bombarded by sales promotions from every online retailer. Then we finally make it to Giving Tuesday, which is all about giving back!!

Supporting Five Organizations Doing Good

Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on holiday and end-of-year giving. Here at Rockview we are taking this day to celebrate the organizations, charities and events that we have had the privilege to support all year long. Below we’ve highlighted five organizations or groups that have included us in their efforts this year. We greatly appreciate how hard they work to serve and improve our community, and today we say thanks for all you do and thanks for including us!

Compton Initiative – “The Compton Initiative is a nonprofit organization founded in 2006 with a 40-year commitment to restore the City of Compton by painting homes, schools and churches on quarterly workdays in partnership with individual volunteers and other organizations. We offer community organizations, service groups and nonprofits an opportunity to make a sustainable impact in Compton by instilling a sense of care and pride within each neighborhood.”

Hope Seekers – “Hope Seekers believes in the value of assisting to develop humanity to its highest good for all concerned. The primary purpose is to provide funding to organizations, programs and services focused on encouraging hope, value and purpose in others.”

Kingdom Causes – “Our Mission is to be a catalyst that inspires, connects, and mobilizes people towards personal and community transformation. We offer housing for homeless, employment support and transitional housing to people in Bellflower that need it most.”

Downey School DistrictWe are committed to many Southern California schools, but the Downey School District is special to us as our hometown schools. We are happy to contribute to the youth of our community and all of their endeavors.

World Help and Cause Life – “World Help is a Christian humanitarian organization that exists to serve the physical and spiritual needs of people in impoverished communities around the world. Our strategy is based on the belief that true transformation is only possible when the needs of the body and soul are addressed simultaneously.”

How Will You Give Back This Holiday Season

In a world that is often bombarded by consumerism, it is refreshing to see these organizations working hard to serve others in such meaningful ways. As a family business, it is important to us to treat our community like an extension of our family and supporting organizations like the ones listed above is one way we can do that. It is an honor to come alongside these causes and others like them to help in whatever ways we can. We urge you to learn more about these organizations or others in your community and consider getting involved this holiday season!
