Friendly Competition to Kick Off National Dairy Month
Here at Rockview Family Farms, we love kids. We take pride in providing milk in hundreds of school cafeterias all over southern California. We know that proper nutrition is a key component to making sure our next generation is able to learn, grow and excel. The nutrients in milk help children grow strong bodies and minds. So, when we say that SoCal children are “Raised on Rockview,” we really mean it! We are proud of being an important part of growing up.
Now that school is winding down and the summer months are upon us, kids are still being “Raised on Rockview” because the same milk they get at school is available in local grocery stores too (visit our locator page to find a store near you!).
June Dairy Month started in 1937 as a way to distribute extra milk during the warm months of summer. It continues to celebrate the nutritional value of milk and to encourage families to make milk their beverage of choice and to incorporate dairy into family mealtimes.
In honor of all the schools we serve and June Dairy Month, Rockview Family Farms partnered with Old River School here in Downey for our first ever “Raised on Rockview” video-production project. This past few weeks the 5th graders at Old River School have been hard at work making creative video clips highlighting the nutritional value of milk, featuring Rockview Family Farms products. The videos include talking milk cartons, artistic use of green screens, and fun milk facts that you won’t want to miss! Members of the Rockview team attended both the kick-off assembly and the viewing party celebrating the kids’ final work – complete with snacks, Rockview milk and Rockview Family Farms T-shirts!
We will be sharing clips of the student videos all month long on our Facebook and Instagram pages – we would love for you to comment with your favorite! We will also share more fun facts about Rockview’s history and the benefits of school milk for June Dairy Month – so get connected and stay tuned!!
